Best BBQ on the way to airport

Hi, first time on this forum.

We will be driving back from Lawrence on a Sunday, and want to hit a very good BBQ restaurant on the way back to the airport. We will be short on time, so dont want to venture too far off the beaten path.

Any suggestions?

Just south of the Airport along I-29 there is a new shopping districted named Zona Rosa. At Zona Rosa there is a great BBQ restaurant named Smokehouse. It would be very convenient for your trip to the airport, as well as having great BBQ. (They have the best baked beans!)

There is an Arthur Bryant%26#39;s in the Legends area by the Kansas Speedway. As you are coming east on I-70, just get off on 110th St. exit, or you can get off on I-435 (toward the airport) then take the exit into Cabela%26#39;s.

Arthur Bryant%26#39;s is next to Bob Evan%26#39;s and on the west side of Legends.

Anyway Zona Rosa is also a great suggestion, and we have stopped both places on our airport runs!

I would recommend Arthur Bryants like ducky said. True KC BBQ, just right off the highway. I go to that location at the Legends once a week. The combo and fries is just massive, and you might need a seat belt extender afterwards.

Yes, that it is! I%26#39;ve made my pilgrimage there once, but since the AB at legends is 2 min from my house I almost live there. But nothing beats the original with a big plate of Q and the bread soaking original sauce, mmmmm.

I noticed the last two reviews of Arthur Bryants was not too favorable. I might have to skip them and go to the Zona Rosas Smokehouse.

I will keep looking, but put in on the top of my list at the moment.

We just had Arthur Bryant%26#39;s one week ago, and it was still good :)

Those reviews were about the downtown location. On your way to the airport you would be stopping at Arthur Bryants at the legends. Its only a couple years old, and is extremely clean inside. Great food everytime, nice employees. I have eaten at over 30 different bbq places in KC, and this is the one that keeps me coming back.

Gnejs....we need to quit recommending it, or everyone will eat all our burnt ends! LOL

If u ever wanna find me ducky, I%26#39;m standing outside the doors at 10:55am every friday or sat morning waiting to get in and dig into a beef and fry :)
