July 4th Weekend - Any updates?

We are still planning on going to St. Louis to meet up with a large number of family members. Some are staying at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand, and I’ve got reservations at the Four Seasons.

I have yet to see anything on the internet about July 4th fireworks. Can I assume that St. Louis will have a fireworks display, even without the “Fair St. Louis”? If so, are the fireworks typically set off on the river? And what time? We were surprised that the fireworks didn’t go off in Louisville until 10:30pm….a little late for most families.

I’m just debating if it’s worth the extra cost to get a hotel room that faces the Arch. If not, is the Renaissance St. Louis Grand in a good location to view the fireworks, or a close walk?

Thanks for your help!

I don%26#39;t ever remember a 4th of July without fireworks downtown. They moved them several blocks west last year due to high water levels, but otherwise they have always been on the river. I believe they start around 9:15. The walk from the Renaissance to the arch grounds would be an easy walk for me, but you should Google Map it since everyone has different ablilities. I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll see much from the Renaissance unless you%26#39;re on the uppermost floors facing either east or south. On the other hand, the Four Seasons would have a great view if your room faces south.

go to this website:

celebratestlouis.org, and on the right-hand side under Live Off the Levee, click on the frequently asked questions link. This will give you info about the time and location of the fireworks, best place to watch them, etc.
