Live Blues Mar 19,20?

My husband and I will be in St.Louis on March 19 and 20. We would love to go hear some live blues music while we%26#39;re there. Any suggestions?

Broadway Oyster Bar, BB%26#39;s Jazz Blues %26amp; Soups, and Beale on Broadway are my favorites. They play a lot of Blues, but not every night. The website riverfronttimes.com will list who is scheduled for a particular night.

Tara%26#39;s suggestions are good particularly if you will be staying in the downtown area.

There%26#39;s a group of clubs just south of the baseball stadium: BB%26#39;s Jazz, Blues, %26amp; Soups, Beale on Broadway, and the Broadway Oyster Bar that always feature good, live Blues, some local, some national.

We have an excellent community radio station in STL, KDHX, which maintains an excellent music calendar here: www.kdhx.org/index.php…

Thanks fo much Tara STL and STL Kingfish. We%26#39;re on the road (have been for 7 weeks) so it%26#39;s taken a while to get caught up. We%26#39;ve looked into your suggestions and have a plan. I%26#39;ll post after our trip to let you know how it went. Thanks again.

You should tune into KDHX, 88.1 FM, while you%26#39;re tooling around town, particularly between 4:00 %26amp; 6:50 pm weekdays. If you like blues, it will make you happy.

One more suggestion: Blues City Deli.

They have acoustic blues early on Thursday evenings, and damn fine sandwiches.

Thanks again TaraSTL, STLKingfish and JKJohnsonf. We ended up only spending one night, March 18 in STL as our plans changed at the last minute. We did a little sightseeing then heading to the Broadway Oyster Bar for dinner. They had a private party that night so no live music. Then we went to Beale on Broadway and listened to Johnny Fox. Had a great time. Hear they have a terrific singer that does a lot of Etta James. We%26#39;ll have to go back. We plan to return again next year on our way home from Arizona. Take care
