Ted Drewes Frozen Custard

Hello!

I see on their website there are 2 locations, would you recommend one of them above the other or are they basically the same? I see the one is on the old route 66, should we rather visit that one?

thanks as always

The on on 66... it%26#39;s at least nostalgic and part of STL history. I%26#39;d take ice cream over custard anyday.

The S. Grand Ave. location is still closed ';for the season'; until mid-May, so the Watson Rd./Rt. 66 location is your only choice at this time.

The selection is the same at both locations. However, I believe that the location on old route 66 (Chippewa St) is bigger and has a bigger parking lot (and lots across the street that you can use if the Ted Drewes lot fills up). Also, depending on when you come the location on South Grand may not be open. The location on Chippewa is only closed for about a month sometime around January and/or February. At either store, if you want to get the famed Ted Drewes ';experience'; be sure to order a concrete rather than a sundae.

Contrary to Zoke2%26#39;s reply though, the location on South Grand opened 10 years before the location on Chippewa. As far as ice cream vs. frozen custard, it all depends on your personal tastes. Some people prefer one to another and some people don%26#39;t even notice much of a difference.

We tasted it for the first time last year in Wisconsin, we don%26#39;t have it in South Africa, closest thing will be frozen yoghurt. The Route 66 location it is then, thank you very much all!
