Hi all,
I will be in St. Louis for a week, arriving next Friday, May 1st. The ten day forecast is showing showers begining next Friday, and then on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
I do have a bus tour for Monday, so that should be fine. I can still try and get St. Charles in one day if the showers are minimal. Does anyone have any suggestions for the rest of the days?
I will be at a hotel in North County, and I have to make arrangements for Call A Ride to take me where ever I need to go a few days in advance (I am legally blind).
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!
Al

I like seeing historial things, so I guess we can do museums. I also like different shops and all. If the rain isn%26#39;t oo bad, I want to get to the Loop and maybe se the St. Louis walk of fame. I%26#39;m going to be there with my mom (she is 77), and I want her to have a good time. We will be visiting elderly friends, so that will take up part of the time as well.
Places in the city are the Old Courthouse across from the Arch---pretty neat because there%26#39;s a museum as well as several historical courtrooms contained under the building%26#39;s restored rotunda. The Cathedral Basilica (aka the New Cathedral) contains one of the world%26#39;s largest mosaic collections, along with very ornate architecture. Although not everything is open to the public, Old Town Florissant in North County has many 1800%26#39;s era buildings from when the area was occupied by the French and Spanish. Some still house businesses.

A few cheap or free things to do: The Missouri History Museum in Forest Park is continually updating their displays. The exhibit on the 1904 World%26#39;s Fair is well worth the visit, as is the exhibit on the city%26#39;s growth along the river. The Art Museum is world class and well worth a visit. The Arch - there is a museum and movies inside in addition to the ride up. I recommend it even without the ride to the top if it%26#39;s cloudy or raining. Parts are free, parts have costs. You could also tour the Old Cathedral while you%26#39;re there. Getting around the Arch grounds could be an issue in the rain.
My favorite indoor place might be the butterfly house in Faust Park. It%26#39;s amazing. A bus tour of the city should be very interesting given the city%26#39;s history. Try www.stlouistours.net. There is also the Miniature Museum: www.miniaturemuseum.org. I%26#39;ve never been, but I%26#39;ve heard good things.
