women's final four- need advice for dining and shopping

My mom and I are headed to the Final Four next weekend. We are staying at the Drury Inn near Union Station. Can anyone recommend non-touristy shopping in the downtown area? We will not have a car but can walk or ride the metrolink. What about dining? I am familiar with restaurants at Union Station and Laclede%26#39;s Landing, but what about other restaurants that we can%26#39;t find at home in Texas? We don%26#39;t have a food preference but would like to try something casual and unique to St. Louis.

Any tips on how to spend our free time between games? How are the riverboat cruises?

Thanks for the help!

The Good Pie on Olive St between Union Station and midtown StL is a cozy place that serves thin Neopolitan-style pizza from a wood oven. More dining suggestions are found in replies to this post...

There are several stores like UMA, Salt of the Earth, and Macrosun centered along either Washington Ave or Locust St that have unique gifts and home accessories. This is a big loft district, so these stores carry some eclectic and unique stuff. There are also clothing boutiques in the same location.
