July 4 Weekend - hotel options

My family has recently decided to meet in St. Louis over July 4 weekend. I’m looking at hotel options early because I want to be particular in where we stay. We’d like to be close to the fireworks where we can see them preferably from the hotel room or very close to the hotel. We’ll have a 2 yr old in tow, and the closer the fireworks viewing from the hotel, the better. I’ve been looking at the Milleneum or Four Seasons since I know they are both close to the Arch. Prices are “fairly” reasonable (around $179-$225 nt.) Are there any other options close to the fireworks and festivities? I know I’m being picky, but a hotel with an outdoor pool would be preferred, too. I know how hot it can be in St. Louis in the summer! I know the Cardinals will not be in town, so I%26#39;m hoping this helps our options.

Also, I have not heard much about Fair St. Louis yet. I assume this is a yearly event?

Fair STL no longer exists in the format with which you may have been familiar.

You can keep track of things here:

which unfortunately does not yet offer a great deal of info yet for this year.

Ok, so no information on Fair St. Louis yet. But are there still going to be fireworks? And what date does the city typically have them? (Some cities are July 3.)

We%26#39;re going to St. Louis regardless. What hotel would someone recommend close to the Arch or riverfront? I%26#39;m still thinking Milleneum or Four Seasons. Anyone have any other suggestions? Or should we just stay somewhere in the suburbs and drive into the city center?

Thank you!

A couple of years ago we stayed at Drury Inn right across from the arch. There was a lawn area by Drury Inn and lots of people laid there blankets out and sat on the lawn to watch the fireworks. It was nice I have 2 small kids and within 10 minutes we were back in our hotel room. The rooms are nice and I think around $150 a night plus free snacks in the evening and free breakfast buffet in the morning. We always try and stay at Drury Inn when traveling.
