Memorial Weekend

4 of us will be in town for a Cards game memorial weekend. We are all in our mid 20%26#39;s. Any suggentions on where to stay and other activities to do? We are thinking a brewery tour for sure, and we definitely want to go out a couple nights.

Memorial Weekend

Do the Brewery and the Arch. If you like bars, go to Lacledes Landing. The Rib America Festival will be downtown that weekend. Get some BBQ and watch some 80%26#39;s hair bands such as Firehouse, Warrant, and Bret Michaels. Maybe check out the City Museum- go at night, it is a very unique experience. You can check out some of the trendy cafes/bars on Washington ave after visiting the City Museum. There is an upscale casino on Lacledes Landing called Lumiere Place.

I%26#39;d stay downtown to make it easy but I%26#39;m not sure of the rates that weekend. Check out the Drury Hotels. One downtown and one near Union Station. The one at Union Station is near a Metrolink train station that you can use to go to the game and downtown. Take a cab or drive to the City Museum and the Brewery. Use metrolink to get to Lacledes Landing (use the same stop to get to the arch). The metrolink does have a station at the stadium as well.

Memorial Weekend

For nightlife in St. Louis there are lots of options: Soulard, just down Broadway from the stadium - Llewellyn%26#39;s or Big Daddy%26#39;s are fun. You might also want to visit the Central West End, just north of I-64 and Kidgshighway, but a blocke east on Euclid. If the weather is nice try the outside seating at Bar Italia. There are several bars and restaurants nearby. A great restaurant that%26#39;s also fun is Boogaloo in Maplewood. A bonus is you can walk down to the Schlafly brewery, or if you prefer wine, over to the wine bar at Monarch%26#39;s (also an excellent restaurant, more fine dining). For bar-hopping, it%26#39;s pretty hard to beat the Delmar Loop, around the intersection of Delmar and Skinker. A fun place to stop there is Blueberry Hill.

If you have a car and your group is interested in wine, visit either the Augusta or Ste. Genevieve wineries. Each location has several wineries, the most popular being Crown Valley in Ste. Genevieve and Mount Pleasant in Augusta. If you%26#39;ve never been there, you will be amazed at how upscale and fun this experience is. Both areas are about and hour or hour and a half outside of town. Please note these places are extremely popular with the locals, so you will want to head out early. I recommend arriving around noon if you can manage it. The drive alone is worth the trip.
