weekend trip ideas

Hi all. This has probably been asked several times, I didn%26#39;t get too far in the forum topics-but I am seeing a lot from several months back.

I am thinking of a weekend trip to Kansas City and surrounding area. What are the must do/see places? I am looking at 2-3 nights, planning on staying one night at Harrah%26#39;s. I like museums, shows, casinos, shopping and anything interesting. I have very random interests. Unfortunately, I am not going to be there for baseball games.

This is a VERY last minute trip--just want to go somewhere I haven%26#39;t been yet. I hear Branson isn%26#39;t too far away? Ads on t.v. all the time. Also, what%26#39;s the weather in March/April like there?

Lastly, hotels...all over I%26#39;m sure but any within walking distance to something suggested as a to do, or easy to drive to? Im pretty boring with hotels, dont need fancy, standard Hampton Inn or something similar.

Thanks to anyone still reading - suggestions appreciated!!

Branson is 3 plus hours away- drive time would eat up alot of your time.

Look into hotels on the country club plaza- can walk to shops, dining and museums

weather should be nice but who knows in KC-can change quickly

Yeah, katieinkc, have you checked out the forecast for this weekend? Talk about changing weather! Up to 6 inches of snow possible. Oh boy, and we have a birthday trip for my son planned. Good thing that I learned how to drive in snow while living in Nebraska!!!!LOL!!

How far is the airport (MCI) from Crown Center (this sounds like a good place to spemnd time), Union Station and Harrahs?

Im also seeing a lot about 18th and Vone...any input?

Crown Center is about 20- minutes from airport%26gt; KCI shuttle will take you to hotel

thought I replied but it%26#39;s lost...

are the inexpensive hotels by crown center? (under $100) i was thinking of renting a car--is it necessary and hows the traffic?

thanks katie for input
