Alone on a rainy day

I am visiting my husband while he is in training in St. Louis next week. I have a whole day to myself but it is supposed to rain so the Zoo is out as well as the park. I have already been to the Arch. Any other suggestions for something fun or intersting on a rainy day?

the city museum is cool:

there are other museums near the zoo in forest park as well. the art museum is free admission (at least it was last time i visited).

have you ever been to union station? that is also a fun place to walk around with plenty to do there.

The Missouri Botanical Garden has several indoor conservatories. It would actually be kind of cool to walk outdoors in the rain because all the colors are more vibrant against the backdrop of a gray sky. FYI, the Zoo has plenty of indoor attractions too. You could always do an Anheuser-Busch Brewery tour. Check out some of the historic %26amp; ornate churches like the Old Cathedral or the Cathedral Basilica (New Cathedral). I%26#39;d skip Union Station. Not much happening there these days.

All of the above are good suggestions. But let me tell you, the weather forecasters are wrong much of the time in St. Louis, especially so far in advance. That forecast could change half a dozen times between now and then.

I have to agree that you should never put much trust into a forecast for a week from now here in the Midwest.

I’d go to the Art Museum www.slam.org/ and/or History Museum www.mohistory.org/. Both are in Forrest Park and are free accept for special exhibits, and even those are often free one day per week.

You can also check local calendars of events for other happenings that might interest you on sites like www.ksdk.com, www.stltoday.com/, www.metromix.com/ and/or www.riverfronttimes.com/.

Thanks for the info! i went to the zoo and the art museum yesterday and they were both great!! And both free but donations are accepted and deserved! I think I will try the gardens today, rain or not. What a great city!
